Grant supports health and wellness programming for local senior community
WARSAW, Ind. — K21 Health Foundation (K21) announces a $20,000 grant to Kosciusko County Senior Services to support the organization’s Senior Activity Center. The grant will enable the center to expand its comprehensive range of health-focused programming and activities for local seniors aged 60 and older.
The Kosciusko County Senior Activity Center offers over 50 health and wellness-related activities, including cardio drumming, chair volleyball, and a wide variety of nutritional and exercise classes. The center recently hired a full-time staff member dedicated to developing and delivering these active and educational opportunities.
“The Senior Activity Center plays a vital role in helping older adults in our community thrive,” said Rich Haddad, CEO of K21 Health Foundation. “By providing such an array of engaging, health-focused activities, the center is helping seniors stay active, informed, and connected socially. We are glad to support this important work through our grant.”
The activity center relies on partner organizations and volunteers to assist with many of its activities, fostering a strong sense of community among participants. In addition to the physical wellness programs, the center also offers resources and support to meet the various needs of our community’s seniors.
“This grant from K21 Health Foundation will enable us to continue building on the robust programming already in place at our Senior Activity Center,” said David Neff, Executive Director of Kosciusko County Senior Services. “We’re grateful for K21’s partnership in our mission to improve the health, independence, and overall quality of life for seniors in our community.”
