The organization will impact health and wellness through baseball
NORTH WEBSTER, IN – K21 Health Foundation (K21) is pleased to award a $40,000 grant to the North Webster Youth League, operating under the Wawasee Community Summer League (WCSL), for the development of their baseball facilities. This grant will help fund the construction of much-needed batting cages and the installation of lighting for the third baseball diamond at the North Webster ball fields.
The WCSL is dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment for children in the Wawasee Community to engage in physical activities and enjoy the benefits of organized sports. Unfortunately, their existing batting cages were destroyed by severe weather, leaving young athletes without a dedicated space to practice their hitting skills. Additionally, the improved field lighting will provide an opportunity for community members to enjoy evening baseball games with their families when daylight is limited.
The impact of this grant from K21 will be felt directly by the over 550 children enrolled in the Wawasee Community Summer League. As the WCSL continues to grow season after season, the foundation’s support will play a pivotal role in enhancing the overall experience for young athletes and their families.
“The North Webster Youth League would like to express its gratitude to the K21 Health Foundation for their generous support,” said Mike Fowler, Commissioner. “This grant marks a significant milestone in our mission to create a more active and engaging environment for the youth in the Wawasee community.”
“We’re glad to be a part of a project that will offer young baseball and softball players a designated area for practice and enhance their overall access and experience,” said Rich Haddad, CEO of K21 Health Foundation. “These facilities will encourage children to spend more time outdoors and engage in physical activities, which is a huge part of our mission.”
